Tips for Choosing the Best Steam Mop for You
There are a lot of steam mops to choose from these days which can make picking one seem like an overwhelming
task. Since name recognition alone doesn't necessarily make for a great steam mop, here are some tips to help
you choose the best steam mop for you:
1. Do Your Research - This seems like a no-brainer but read reviews and trust what you
read. If there are a lot of negative reviews for a particular model, this should definitely be a red flag for
you to avoid that mop. Taking a little time to do research will save you aggravation and possibly money in
the long run.
2. Narrow Your Search - You can make your search easier by narrowing it before you
start. If you know you only want to spend a certain amount of money on your steam mop, only research the
models in that price range.
Dirt Devil, Lysol, and
Steamfast are usually under $50 while the Eureka Enviro Steamer, the original Shark Steam Mop, and the Bissell usually run
between $50 - $80. The Shark Pocket Steam Mop, the Haan Steam Mop, the Monster, and the H20 Ultra usually run
$80 and up.
3. Do You Need Bells and Whistles? - This is another question to ask yourself. If you
want a mop with a lot of bells and whistles you will want to check out the Haan, Monster, Dirt Devil Deluxe, or the Shark
Pocket. If you just want a basic steam mop that gets the job done but doesn’t come with a lot of fancy
attachments or features, check out the Eureka
Enviro Steamer, Bissell, or the Steamfast.

Eureka Enviro Steamer - a simple no frills
steam mop with an adjustable handle, this mop gets hotter than many other models so it's a good sanitizing mop. It
comes with two reusable mop pads that clip on for easy changing. Moderately priced.
Haan Slim and Light - More expensive than the Eureka Enviro
Steamer but the Haan Slim and Light comes with more features including a santizing tray attachment that
can be used to sanitize furniture, carpets, and mattresses. Mop pads velcro on and it has a low profile mop
head so it's great for getting under cabinets and furniture.
