Hoover Steam Mop Pros

Large water tank. The water tank holds 16.9 ounces of fluid per fill up. This will give you 20-25 minutes of steaming time.

Heats up quickly. The Hoover Steam Mop has 12 amps and can heat up in just 30 seconds. This is very fast since many steam mops including the Haan Steam Mop and Eureka Enviro Steamer require a few minutes to start steaming.

Two tanks. This is a really unique steam mop feature. The Hoover has dual tanks. One is for using just steam, the other allows you to use a disinfecting solution while mopping your floors. While many people buy steam mops because they like the chemical free approach to cleaning, some of you may enjoy having this option.

Long power cord. It has an impressive 30 foot long power cord. This is very good for a steam mop. Most models only provide a 18-20 feet. You will be able to tackly even the largest rooms in your house with out relocating to a new electrical outlet.

Continuous Steam. Some steam mops like the Bissell Steam Mop and Shark Steam Mop require you to pump or push triggers to produce steam. The Hoover Steam Mop, however, produces continuous steam while on.

11 inch cleaning path. This is pretty standard size for steam mops. It gives you a decent cleaning area on each swipe back and forth.

Swivel head. Not every steam mop has this, the Hoover does. It makes it easier to get into tight areas.

Triangle shape mop head. Many steam mops feature rectangular heads. Only a few including the Hoover and the Dirt Devil Steam Mop have triangular shaped mop heads. This makes it easy to clean corners.

Carpet glide attachment.  The included carpet glide attachment is another bonus feature. You can use it to reshen up your carpets and kill dust mites.

Cons of the Hoover Steam Mop

So far, not too many cons. The biggest one I can see is the price. It is one of the priciest models on the market. Keep in mind though that Hoover has equipped this steam mop with just about every feature a consumer could wish for.

If you aren't looking to spend a lot on a steam mop, you might be better off with some cheaper but still good alternatives like the Eureka Enviro Steamer, Bissell Steam Mop, or Haan Steam Mop. All of these can be bought for about $40-$50 less than the Hoover is currently selling for.

If however you are looking for a totally loaded steam mop, this one could be a good investment. Since it is still fairly new, it is hard to comment on the longetivity of this unit but Hoover has been making cleaning tools for a long time and has a good reputation.
